Design highlight

The Design Museum

Assisting in the lead-up
to the museum’s opening,
awaited with much anticipation,
culminated with director
Stephen Bayley appearing
on the BBC Wogan show
and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher
arriving by boat to officially launch
London’s newest cultural destination.

Yvonne initially assisted
on marketing activities,
including a city-wide
poster campaign,
and engaging
London’s taxi community!

Steering publicity campaigns
for its exhibitions programme,
highlights include Raymond Loewy:
Pioneer of Industrial Design,
Hans Schleger: 1898-1976,
Is Starck a Designer?,
Citroen DS: The Goddess
and the Conran Foundation:
A Collection for the 21st Century
by Ross Lovegrove.

Gallery spaces were
occasionally hired out
for appropriate displays.

The Blend Ashtray Collection
was commissioned by Poeform,
and involved an impressive line-up
of international design talent
including Andree Putman,
Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson,
Aldo Rossi and Ettore Sottsass.

Yvonne handled the PR,
looked after the designers
and organised a provocative
debate about taste
with Toby Young,
Editor of The Modern Review.
