Working with Baluba, Yvonne compiled a proposal to develop a craft oriented retail space at Bicester Village. More than a store – a story; a space for campaigning British craftsmanship at its best. A ‘show-space’ to celebrate Britain’s makers of the moment; a nexus of craft, design, fashion and lifestyle was proposed – revealing Britain’s most original, skilful and sometimes quirky creations.

Culture is the selling strategy of the future – this space would celebrate the UK’s reputation for distinctive craftsmanship, while turning the craft industry’s ‘straw baskets/clay pots’ perception on its head. Shopping centres need to differentiate their offering to set themselves apart and provide visitors with a sense of place. Bicester Village features an impressive range of global brands. This project would be a way of highlighting emerging British creative talent and a photo-worthy space where shoppers could share their experience via social media.
